For those of you who don’t know him, Lee Thomas is an author and broadcaster from Michigan who was diagnosed with vitiligo early on in his career (about 20 years ago). Imagine having vitiligo AND having to show your face on the 5 o’clock news every evening?
What’s really interesting about this story, though, is that Lee lost all of his skin pigment and ended up looking like a white man. He even produced a documentary about his experience with vitiligo called Turning White.
It was at this point that Lee decided to try getting help from The Dead Sea in Amman. He was there for the required duration of treatment, and then he returned home.
It was when he got home that he began to repigment. And he continues to repigment as we speak:
Here’s a short little video of his journey:
It just shows that even in the severest of cases, skin pigment is ready and willing to return when given the right treatment. Your body just needs the right tools to heal.
Now obviously, I don’t have the money to go to the Dead Sea. But there are other treatments out there that do work, and I am determined to find the one that works for me. 😉
