      Hi Jennifer,
I am sorry about your son. If you are just learning about vitiligo and are new to what is happening inside the body, I do recommend David Paltrow’s Vitiligo Miracle. You can read my reviews here http://realvitiligotreatment.com/vitiligo-miracle-review-part-1/.

Hello, your website has been extremely helpful with information as well as providing hope πŸ™‚
I recently found the book vitiligo miracle but than came across your book list. If I were to purchase any of these book do you think it’s a necessary to purchase the vitiligo miracle as well? Is the information that different? My main concern would be to find something to help with the steps of changing my diet in order to better my autoimmune system because that seems to be the best way to go. Are you still following the steps in the miracle book? How is it going?
    Thank you!

      Hello Lee,
I am so glad the blog is helping you stay hopeful.
Personally, I feel the Vitiligo Miracle eBook is worth having, because he covers so much information. It’s a really great place to start if you don’t know much about vitiligo and what you can do about it. Yes, I am still following the basic steps, along with a few other things since I do Nutritional Balancing. Nutritional Balancing is a bit pricey and very strict, so it’s not for everyone. The Vitiligo Miracle is the next best thing, in my opinion.

The autoimmune recovery book is also a favorite of mine ! I have autoimmune thyroid that I developed at age 18. My vitiligo started at age 28 after a horrible doctor declared that I didn’t have a thyroid issue and I was just faking it so I could use synthroid for weight loss and refused to test my levels! After a whole year of basically being blacklisted for TSH by docs because this was written all over my charts, I got a doc to test me a lo and behold… My TSH was so high, that I was sent to and endocrinologist specialist for intensive help. After that I was determined to take control of my own health and understand my body’s capabilities and shortcomings. I have at various times re-pigmented but never fully due to a very traumatic divorce that I’m just barely recovering from. Meditation has been the new tool in my arsenal and I’m hoping to see the stubborn areas come around. Thanks for pulling this blog together, and I would love to add to your information with my research if your ever interested.

I can relate to the traumatic divorce thing…I’m sorry you had to go through that. It’s so hard πŸ™

      Hello Stephanie!
I actually have Dr. Dawson’s book, and I did not find it to be helpful at all. The reason I didn’t like it is because it did not address the internal issues that those of us with vitiligo are dealing with. This is an enormous oversight to me, since the key in overcoming vitiligo is to address it internally. He gave no instruction on how to do this, but instead compiled a bunch of home remedies and recipes to apply topically to vitiligo lesions. One book I really like though, is David Paltrow’s Vitiligo Miracle book. I found it to be a fairly complete and helpful resource. I think it is a great place for a beginner to start learning about what can be done about vitiligo. Hope that helps! Thanks for visiting πŸ™‚

    Hello
Have you read “clean gut”? this book absolutely stopped me feeling hopeless about vitiligo and convinced me that it IS possible to heal it. i have a long history of antibiotic use and digestive issues, this book talks about antibiotics and the contraceptive pills blocking folate… so your body can’t repigment even if it wanted to if your immune system in your gut is all fried out.
All the times the chemist would offer me pro-biotics after my antibiotics i thought it was just a sales pitch. Now i take the probiotics religiously and so far have reduced the need for UTI antibiotics and also have seen some repigmentation.

      Hello Missee!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with probiotics. I have not read clean gut, but I will check it out – thanks for the recommendation. I have some extensive history with antibiotics myself – I also went through a bad bout of recurring UTIs. Of course, I agree with you 100% that vitiligo can be healed! I send you my best wishes and I hope you continue to get healthy and repigment!
