My Favorite Blogs/Websites
ThePaleoMom.com – This is a blog written by a scientist who is now a stay at home mom. She knows her stuff, and she herself has an autoimmune disease. She has a bunch of very informative articles about why the Paleo autoimmune protocol is so effective. You can find them here.
ChrisKresser.com – Chris is a licensed acupuncturist and practitioner of integrative medicine. His site contains a wealth of information regarding gut health and how it relates to autoimmune disease.
DrHyman.com – Dr. Mark Hyman “has dedicated his career to identifying and addressing the root causes of chronic illness through a groundbreaking whole-systems medicine approach known as Functional Medicine. He is a family physician, a four-time New York Times bestselling author, and an internationally recognized leader in his field.”
TheWellnessWell.com – This is the site of Natropath Wanakee Hill, who specializes in treating patients with vitiligo. She has vitiligo herself, which makes her unique. She understands the frustrations we face and has managed to reverse her vitiligo despite being told by doctors that there was nothing she could do. She has a book that’s available on Amazon (see book list below) and she also offers a half hour consultation on her site for $75.00.
EmilysVitiligo – This site is packed with information about vitiligo and re-pigmentation. It is a fathers diary/documentation of his fight to cure his little girl’s vitiligo. I gained a lot of insight from this blog about how cutting out animal protein and following a vegetarian diet plays a role in successfully treating vitiligo. I was especially horrified by the section talking about cow’s milk and how terrible it really is for us. Such an eye opener. Shocking and disgusting, but at the same time so good to know.
I have vowed to never touch cow’s milk again :(.
